Ingredients

- 0 single pastry for 9 inch pie
- 1 white egg
- 0 :::::Topping:::::
- 0.33 C sugar
- 0.33 C flour
- 1 T cinnamon
- 0.25 C cold margarine
- 0 :::::Filling:::::
- 2 T flour
- 1 C sour cream
- 0.125 tsp salt
- 0.75 C sugar
- 0.25 tsp nutmeg
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 2 C diced pared apples
Instructions
- Line pan with pastry. Flute edge. Brush bottom and sides--not fluted edge- with egg white.
- In mixing bowl, mix flour, salt and sugar. Add egg, sour cream, vanilla, and nutmeg.
- Stir to make a smooth thin batter, Stir in apples. Pour filling into pastry-lined pan.
- Bake at 400 for 15 minutes. Then at 350 for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make topping by mixing in a small bowl the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut in cold margarine with 2 knives, pastry blender or fingers.
- After 30 minute baking period is finished, remove pie from oven and raise temp to 400. Sprinkle pie with topping mixture, and return pie to oven for 10 more minutes.
